Quality

Setaf Saget complies with strict standards to ensure the best protection of people, the environment and the capital.

Safety first

The crews of the vessels in the fleet comply with rigorous procedures in performing their daily tasks. They have vowed to comply with the ISM code, which covers the organization of safety measures taken by the company. On board, every potential high-risk situation (soldering, use of chemicals, etc.) is analyzed and preventive measures are taken.

Thanks to close cooperation between Setaf Saget captains, technical managers and operating officials, safety and working methods are constantly being improved.

Setaf Saget also performs systematic checks to make sure that each chartered vessel meets safety requirements and international standards.

The greatest respect for the environment

The partners of Setaf Saget are always looking for alternative transport solutions. Every cargo ship with 2,000 tons of deadweight connecting two European ports means 100 fewer trucks on the roads. Handled by responsible professionals, maritime transport is reliable, consumes little energy and is environmentally friendly at every stage: loading, unloading, and cleaning of holds.

All operated vessels comply with the latest environmental regulations.

Transporting successively coal, grain, cement and sugar on the same vessel is a daily thing for Setaf Saget. A thorough cleaning job is done before every loading. All vessels are equipped with cleaning equipment for that purpose. The job of the crew is simplified and the use of chemicals reduced to a strict minimum as is the amount of water required. If need be, a Setaf Saget Port Captain supervises commercial and nautical operations on-site and checks them for effectiveness and compliance with the applicable environmental regulations.

In order to optimize the environmental risk management inherent in bulk transport, Setaf Saget takes care to operate a recent fleet of vessels. The owned fleet has an average age of 4 years.
